CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) - Sunday the city of Conway indulged in various tasty soups as the Bethlehem House kicked off its 2nd annual Empty Bowls event.
Empty Bowls brought the community of Conway together to raise money for the city's homeless shelter. The event not only raises money for the Bethlehem House's operational fund but also hopes to raise awareness for the hungry.
Bethlehem House Executive Director Judi Lively said in smaller cities like Conway, it's easy to overlook those in need.
"It's easy to not acknowledge they're here, so the first purpose is to really bring acknowledgement to it and then to raise money to help feed and house the homeless here," she explained.
