MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (AP) - A defense attorney is seeking a mental evaluation for a Mountain Home woman accused in the death of a 24-year-old man.
Mountain Home radio station KTLO reports that an attorney for Christina Scroggin has filed paperwork indicating that he has "good cause" to believe that his client is not mentally fit to proceed to trial.
Scroggin was charged in the April death of Raul Turrieta of Mountain Home. Police have said that authorities discovered Turrieta's body in the trunk of Scroggin's car.
Authorities said they also discovered a pistol in the car. An autopsy found that Turrieta died from three gunshot wounds to the head and chest.
