LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas State Police has named a new commander for Troop I headquartered in Harrison.
Lt. Wesley Smithee of Harrison was promoted to captain on Thursday and will take over as commander of Troop I.
Smithee is one of six troopers promoted during the monthly meeting of the State Police Commission in Little Rock.
The others are Sergeants David Moore of Marion and Charles Watson of Monticello both being promoted to lieutenant and Corporals Brad Spurlin of White Hall, Roby Rhoads of Atkins and Ramey Lovan of Paragould were each promoted to sergeant.
