UNDATED (CNN) -- More than 160 gingerbread homes, with sugar trees and gumdrop roofs, make up the largest gingerbread village in the world.
Chef Jon Lovitch has spent almost the entire year creating the village. He made it piece by piece in his apartment in the Bronx, in an oven that can only hold one baking pan at a time.
Then he assembled it at the New York Hall of Science, where it's now on display.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records website, Lovitch has set the record for the largest gingerbread village.
