LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Thursday, more than 1,800 children and spouses from around the country will embark on an all expenses-paid trip to Texas, and one of those flights is leaving from Little Rock.
Before departing from LIT, families were greeted with festive gate décor, holiday music and joyful celebration. The aircraft also received a water-cannon salute upon departure.
The holidays can be a difficult time for those who have lost a loved one - especially for families of fallen military. In an effort to bring some healing and cheer to these families, American Airlines and American Eagle, via the American Airlines Kids In Need program, are once again partnering with Snowball Express to fly these children and spouses to Dallas/Fort Worth for a few days of fun and friendship.
Snowball Express is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring hope, joy and new memories to the children who have lost a parent on active duty since Sept. 11, 2001.
