    North Little Rock News:

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - We didn't need a big lottery score to see lives changed Friday. You could've seen it at the Levy Church of Christ at 10 a.m.

Eighty-eight young people had faced demons in varying degrees, but through strict discipline and hard work, they made it through the National Guard's Youth Challenge. Several earned their GED, and some are now headed to college. A majority of them have chosen the military.

"Some of them have been kind of under the radar in which they may have gotten into a little trouble at school, but once they complete this program, about 85 percent of them are known not to get in trouble and most of them have continued to improve," said director Richard Laboy, a favorite with the students.

Community service is at the heart of their second chance to the tune of 6,312 hours of service from this class of 88 kids alone.
