RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (AP) - An Arkansas Tech University graduate was reunited with his brother in a surprise at ATU's graduation ceremony Saturday.
Nathan Qualls walked across the Tucker Coliseum floor to receive his diploma when his name was called Saturday and was presented the Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering by his brother - U.S. Army Sgt. Jared Qualls who had just returned from an overseas tour of duty as a combat engineer.
The two received a standing ovation from the crowd of about 3,000 as they embraced.
Jared Qualls served in Afghanistan in 2010-11 and was in Kuwait during 2013.
