LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The wintry weather passing through Arkansas Wednesday morning is causing major road issues for drivers across the state.

Benton police tell THV 11 that officers working accidents, some with injuries, on every overpass in city. They are asking all drivers to pease avoid I-30 overpasses.

We've gotten reports from THV 11 Twitter followers of accidents on I-40 in Ozark where several drivers have gone off the roadway.

The Yell County Sheriff's Office wrote on their Facebook page, "We've had approximately 20 accidents due to icy roads this morning so far. All mountain highways, SH 7 and SH 27 have especially been problems. Please do not travel unless you have to, we expect that conditions on the roadways will improve this afternoon as the highway crews have time to work."

We now have an amazing feature on our THV 11 iPad app that gives you up-to-date traffic information. If you already have the app, all you need to do is update it. If you don't, download it from the iTunes app store and it will be ready for use!

Also, for the latest information on construction work in Arkansas, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department created iDriveArkansas.com for you to keep track of construction and traffic-related updates.
