    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - January not only kicks off a new year, it also marks the Martin Luther King Junior Day of Service.

    Little Rock Family Editor Heather Bennett sat down with Dawn earlier today to explain why this month of service is vital to his vision of a "beloved community".

    This month is a time to put words into action, and continue the dreams of the renowned civil rights leader Doctor Martin Luther King.

    Here's a list of celebrations happening this month:

    January 11 - Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King at Crossett High School 4 p.m.
    Jan. 15 - Episcopal Collegiate School's Chapel Service led by DeShun Scarbrough
    Jan. 15 - MLK Birthday Bash at Daisy Bates Elementary
    Jan. 19 - Celebration of Worship-Youth Empowerment Service in Pine Bluff
    Jan. 20 - Prayer Breakfast at Shorter College
    Jan. 20 - 2014 A Day of Service - A Day On, Not a Day Off - Pine Bluff Convention Center featuring MLK, Jr.'s nephew, Isaac Farris.
