Facebook introduced a news-reading app called Paper, which will combine users' news feeds with stories based on specific topics.
The app, which resembles visual news readers like Flipboard, lets users customize their feeds through sections such as sports, photography, food or design.
TECH STOCKS: Facebook skyrocketed 16% at the market open to $62.11
Sections will feature content from "emerging voices and well-known publications."
The design of Paper marks a drastic departure from Facebook's traditional mobile app. Users will be able to thumb through stories with simple swipes, and live previews let users view how their photos or posts will appear before they're published. Users can also tilt their phones to view images.
The app will be available for iPhone in the U.S. on February 3.
