LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A Little Rock man is under arrest for allegedly raping a juvenile.
Lt. Carl Minden with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office released a report Friday stating that Paul Wayne Perkins was arrested Jan. 30 and charged with rape and second degree sexual assault. He is being held on $100,000 bond.
A woman reportedly told the PCSO that her 16-year-old daughter had been sexually abused by Perkins. She alleged the abuse had started several years prior and occurred at Perkins' home in Sherwood.
The report stated the teen told her mom that in exchange for sexual acts, Perkins provided her with money and other favors. This confession reportedly came after the mom asked her daughter why Perkins was so nice to her, and asked if she did anything for him in return.
Minden said they conducted interviews and search warrants, and then sent their information to the prosecutor's office for review. That review came back Jan. 27 and the arrest warrant was issued Jan. 30.
Note: This original story identified Perkins as a doctor, based off of the police report. Perkins has earned his Doctor of Medicine degree and refers to himself as a doctor, however he has never practiced medicine. He is, however, employed at an area hospital.
