LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Many Arkansans are familiar with a special animal refuge here in the state, but it's starting to pick up steam online.

You may have seen on Facebook an article from ViralNova, called "So There's An Animal Refuge In Arkansas. And It Might Be The Best Place Ever... Trust Me." It's about Rocky Ridge Rescue.

According to Muck Rack, the article has been shared more than 30,000 times on Facebook.

Rocky Ridge Refuge, located in Midway, Arkansas writes on their Facebook page, "Rocky Ridge Refuge is a place of helping and healing for a wide variety of special needs animals that find their way here."

Several years ago, RRR was known for Lurch. Lurch was an African Watusi steer that became an international celebrity. He is the Guinness Record holder for the largest circumference of horns of any animal in the world.

Shortly after Lurch was born, he was brought to RRR. He died in 2010.

Rocky Ridge Refuge is a 501c3 non-profit organization and they work off your donations and support. You can donate through PayPal or you can send them a check to:
