A mother and her two sons have been arrested in connection with the murder of an elderly Wrightsville farmer.
Tuesday night, 42-year-old Denise Wilson and her two sons 18-year-old Charles Stevenson and 20-year-old Alfonso Wilson were taken to the Pulaski County jail. They all face capital murder charges in the January 14th death of 91-year-old William Cunningham.
The Pulaski County Sheriff's Department says Cunningham was found on the floor in the kitchen of his home in Wrightsville. Spokesman John Rehrauer says it appears it was a robbery attempt gone bad.
Rehrauer says the three arrested lived in a home they rented from Cunningham. It was located right next to his house.
Rehrauer says apparantly they had a disagreement over rent money several days before the killing.
The weapons believed used in the murder as well as bloody clothing and shoes were found Tuesday afternoon in a field across the street from the Cunningham home.
As for what those weapons were and how Cunningham died, Rehrauer could not give details.
All three arrested are expected to be arraigned Wednesday.
