The Prairie County Sheriff's Department received an anonymous tip about a marijuana growing operation in the city of Hazen. After contacting the Hazen city Marshal's office, officers located several marijuana plants growing in a flower pot on the back porch of the Holyfield residence at 608 E. Madison St. in Hazen.
Hazen city Marshal Mike Corely obtained a search warrant for the entire property based on the discovery of the marijuana. During the execution of the search warrant, several drug paraphernalia items were located throughout the residence.
There were three arrests made in connection with the search warrant. John e. Holyfield III, 22, of Hazen charged with manufacturing of a controlled substance. Hilary Holyfield, 24, of Hazen charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of prescription drugs without a prescription. Christopher Gaydus, 31, of Lonoke wanted for several outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
There were a total of 15 marijuana plants seized. All of were in their early juvenile stage of growth.
