Coast Guard unloads 1.7 tons of cocaine in St. Pete

The drugs were dropped off in St. Pete yesterday. Five people were arrested.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- You’re looking at 1.7 tons of cocaine.

According to our partners at the Tampa Bay Times, the Coast Guard says it was all seized in four separate incidents in Central America.
It was all unloaded in St. Petersburg Thursday.  The estimated street value of the load is 56 million dollars.

Five people were also arrested for drug smuggling.
