NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- A North Little Rock man is wanted for capital murder.
According to the report, patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Motel 6 on West 29th Street around 2 a.m. on July 4. The night manager reportedly told officers that the victim walked into the lobby and said he had been shot.
Police say Michael James Jr., 26, was responsive upon officer's arrival. He was taken to a Little Rock hospital where he died later that morning.
Police say James was a North Little Rock resident but was staying at the motel.
North Little Rock police say Demond Zatrey Montgomery, 19, is wanted for the capital murder of James. He is a black male, is 5'6" and weighs 140 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. Police say he has a tattoo on his left forearm that says "501 Savage," a tattoo on his right hand that reads "Demond," and another on his right arm that says "North Side."
Police say he has active warrants out for not only capital murder, but also aggravated robbery and possession of a firearm by certain persons. They say Montgomery has a known history of violence and is known to carry a firearm at all times.
