CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) - Police have captured a man they suspect is responsible for a shooting in a Conway trailer park.
Conway Public Information Officer LaTresha Woodruff told THV 11 that Rodney Jermaine "RJ" Smith, 27, was arrested Thursday after he showed up in court in Conway on unrelated charges. Smith was wanted for the attempted capital murder of Samuel Davis.
Detectives said he shot Davis outside of a mobile home in the Oakwood Village trailer park, also known as "Chateau," on Robins St. in Conway. Davis was shot once in the head and the leg, but has since begun to recover.
Smith had been on the run since Oct. 16.
Police said after the shooting, Smith left the scene of the shooting, which happened just before 7 p.m., and switched cars. They say the shooting stemmed from an argument between the two over a busted windshield.
Smith who had been considered armed and dangerous was taken into custody with no problems.
