WARD, Ark. (KTHV) - The Lonoke County Sheriff's Department has asked the public for help in identifying a scam artist.

According to the department, the man they are looking for is accused of swindling unsuspecting sellers out of their motorcycles through Craigslist.com.

Investigators said the man was caught on surveillance at one point. He was described as a white male between the ages of 30 and 40, and he was said to be driving a dark green Chevy Tahoe, with faded paint on the hood and roof.

Police said a victim from Ward filed a report with police Sept. 22 saying he had placed his burnt orange 2007 Suzuki motorcycle XR1 on Craigslist.com in an attempt to sell it for $9,400, but after they sold it to a buyer, they found that the check they were given was fraudulent.

During an attempt to warn other sellers, the victim came across another person who had video of the suspect.

Anyone who may have information on this man, please call the Lonoke County Sheriff's Department at (501) 676-3051, and ask for Investigator Tanya Cross.
