LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Little Rock police are searching for suspects who stole thousands of dollars worth of sculptures.
Larceny detectives are working the case of $20,000 worth of sculptures stolen from Riverfront Park.
Police say a Little Rock Parks employee was inspecting the park Friday morning when he discovered three sculptures missing from the Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden.
The piece "Conversation with Myself" is a two part piece and the smaller portion, a two-feet tall long-legged man looking up, was forcibly removed by apparently working the piece back and forth until it broke at the ankle.
The second piece is called 'Birds of Happiness' and is a three feet tall piece of two storks in flight. These were removed by way of a grinder used on the base.
The third piece is called "Uptown Saturday Night" of a foot tall female dancer. This was removed by grinding the mounting bolts from the bottom of the sculpture with the art remaining intact.
All three pieces are made of bronze and police suspect they may have been taken to a scrap yard.
If you have any information regarding this theft you are asked to call police.
