BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) - Benton police arrested a 48-year-old sex offender for not complying with registration and reporting requirements associated with his offender status.
Detectives received information that William Marsh wasn't in compliance with his release terms by living at an unregistered address in Benton. After a brief investigation, officers determined that Marsh wasn't living at his last reported address and was also living with 2,000 feet of two daycare centers.
Arkansas law states that level 3 or 4 sex offenders, the most serious, may not live within 2,000 feet of schools or daycares. A statement from Benton police said Marsh is a level 3 offender.
On Nov. 20, Marsh was taken into custody without incident and was charged with failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements. He was then taken to the Saline County Detention Facility.
