BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Authorities in northwest Arkansas say a fellow inmate attacked a man accused of killing a 6-year-old girl whose body was found in a vacant home days before Thanksgiving.
Benton County Jail Capt. Chris Sparks said Wednesday that a jail trusty was helping a deputy who was passing out fresh clothes and towels when the trusty slipped into Zachary Holly's cell on Tuesday and started a fight with him.
Sparks says Holly wasn't seriously injured.
Holly is due in court Wednesday after he was arrested Monday in the death of 6-year-old Jersey Bridgeman who lived next door. Police say Jersey's body was found Nov. 20 in a nearby vacant house.
Sparks says the trusty is in jail on a parole violation and could face additional charges in the jail attack.
