LONOKE COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - Prosecutors said Christopher Reynolds, 34, will now be charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of Ernest Hoskins, Jr., 21.
"In his mind he knew what he was going to do," said Monica Hoskins, mother of Ernest Hoskins, Jr.
The prosecutor said they reduced the charge originally applied by police because a review of the case revealed Reynolds did not intend to kill Hoskins when he pulled the trigger.
"I don't feel like they [prosecutors] care. I feel like when we met up with the prosecutor his mind was already made up," said Hoskins.
Sources said witnesses there at Reynold's home for the employee meeting said there was no hostile environment.
Prosecutors said the manslaughter charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years.
THV 11 News placed a call to Reynolds' attorney, but our call went unreturned.
