JUDSONIA, Ark. (KTHV) - The suspect in a Heber Springs home break-in case from last week has been arrested.
According to the Cleburne County Sheriff's Office, Jeremy Shawn Kennedy, 41, of Judsonia, was arrested on a warrant for Residential Burglary and Theft of Property March 5 around 6:30 p.m.
The sheriff's office released a statement saying that Kennedy was taken into custody at 615 North Second Street in Judsonia. Police said he had gone through a trap door in the floor of the residence after officers arrived, and was found underneath the home.
Cleburne County Sheriff Marty Moss said surveillance video shown from the scene of the burglary on THV 11 resulted in numerous tips that made it possible for sheriff's office investigators to identify and locate both Kennedy and the vehicle used in the crime.
The homeowners had installed a home surveillance system at their home about a year prior to the break in, and were able to capture Kennedy's likeness on camera.
Kennedy is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond, and additional arrests are expected in the near future.
The Cleburne County Sheriff's Office, White County Sheriff's Office, Judsonia Police Department, and Heber Springs Police Department all participated in this arrest.
