SEARCY, Ark. (KTHV) -- Officers with the Searcy Police Department were called to the River Oaks area for several burglary reports Sunday.
According to Steve Hernandez with Searcy Police, all the vehicles and the home were unlocked when the crimes took place.
Hernandez says most of the stolen property has been returned to the owners.
Through the course of the investigation, 28-year-old Brandon Allen Bates of Judsonia was developed as a suspect. Bates has since been charged with breaking and entering, theft, residential burglary and other charges.
Hernandez says Bates is also expecting charges out of Cabot after
officers found keys to a vehicle that had been reported stolen in one of
the victims' cars.
Bates is currently being held at the White County Law Enforcement Center on a $7,500 bond. He is due in court in September. Bates is also being held on a Parole Violation Warrant with no bond.
