Alexander man arrested for drugs and explosives

SALINE COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - On Sunday, the Saline County Sheriff's office responded to a shooting in Alexander, Arkansas.

The investigation revealed that the wound was self-inflicted by a female who is a felon and should not have access to firearms. While investigating the shooting, detectives found what appeared to be explosives and firearms inside the residence.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence for explosive devices and firearms. Detectives located numerous firearms, several being reported as stolen, narcotics, and several explosive devices (live practice grenades).

Jimmy Hearington, 29, was arrested for 1 count of furnishing a handgun to a felon (felony class B), 3 counts of Criminal use of prohibited weapons (felony class B), 20 counts of Simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms (felony class Y), 1 count of Possession of controlled substance (felony class C), 4 counts of Theft by receiving (felony class B), and 1 count of Possession of drug paraphernalia (felony class D).
