LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – A Saline County teen was arrested on Thursday morning after he allegedly stole his grandparents’ car and drove to Memphis.

CBS affiliate WREG reports that the 13-year-old was pulled over on I-40 East in Shelby County, Tennessee.

Officials say the teen lives with his grandparents. He reportedly got upset with them and stole their car on Wednesday night. He was tracked down using the car’s OnStar system.

Police pulled him over around 6 a.m. on Thursday. The teen told officers he was going to Connecticut to visit his girlfriend.

It is not known at this time if the grandparents will be pressing theft charges or not.

The teen is being held in at the Juvenile Court building as he waits for his grandparents to arrive to meet with a judge, officials said.
