Ark. prosecutors file murder claim in machete case

FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) - Sebastian County prosecutors have filed a pair of capital-murder charges against a man accused of hacking two men to death with a machete.

Twenty-year-old Gregory Aaron Kinsey of Fort Smith is accused in the deaths of 39-year-old Brandon Prince and 32-year-old Nathan Young. Police said they arrested Kinsey last Wednesday after a witness said he saw him running from the scene.

Prosecutor Dan Shue filed two counts of capital murder Monday, according to the Times Record newspaper of Fort Smith . Shue said he will decide later whether to seek the death penalty for Kinsey, who is being held without bail pending a hearing Wednesday. Court records do not show a lawyer listed for Kinsey.

Investigators said Kinsey told officers that he attacked Prince and Young after they confronted him.
