Pine Bluff man arrested for murder after victim found dead in ditch

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – An arrest was made Tuesday after a man’s body was found in a ditch with a gunshot wound to the head on Monday. 

Kirkland Warren, 22, of Pine Bluff has been arrested and is being held at the Jefferson County Detention Center on first degree murder charges in connection with the homicide investigation being led by Special Agents of the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was found in a roadside ditch off Highway 79 and Gingrich Road near Stuttgart. 

His body has been sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification and to determine the manner and cause of death.

The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division will prepare an investigative file and submit the findings to the Jefferson County prosecuting attorney for review.
