Deputies request public's help identifying man who killed mother, injured child

Information leading to the arrest of anyone involved in the case could result in a reward of up to $1,000.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance as detectives work to identify the person who shot a 30-year-old North Little Rock woman and her 5-year-old daughter.
 
The shooting happened at about 6:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19,  as Harris and her four children walked to their car in the parking lot of the Chapel Ridge of North Little Rock apartments, located on McCain Park Place.
 
According to Sheriff's office, the subject shot Harris and her 5-year-old daughter the ran south through the apartment complex.
 
"The mom and daughter were transported to the hospital," said Lt. Chris Ameling with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office. "The mother passed away at the hospital. The 5-year-old was in stable condition and was still at the hospital as far as we know."
 
The other three children were able to escape. On Friday, Jan. 19,  family members told THV11 the children were safe.
 
Pulaski County Sheriff's Office initially described the shooter as wearing all black and a ski mask.
 
"We know the suspect fled south from the apartment complex," Lt. Ameling said. "But we don't have a suspect description."
 
Investigators ask anyone with information about the case to come forward.
 
"It's 6:30 in the morning; it's dark; there's not a lot of people outside," said Ameling about Friday morning. "If anyone saw anything, we're asking for assistance in this matter. We want to give the family some closure here."
