Officer uses 'deadly force' responding to White County 911 call

A man shot in White County died from his injuries at the hospital.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - UPDATE: The man shot by an officer in White County died from his injuries, according to the White County Coroner. No name will be released until next-of-kin are notified.

ORIGINAL:  A 911 call was received in White County saying that possible shots were fired from two separate residences in the 400 block of Sidon Road on Dec. 9 at approximately 7:18 p.m.

After arriving, a White County Deputy spoke with the complainant first then attempted to contact the suspect. 

While investigating the incident, the suspect exposed a rifle and moved it into a firing position, targeting the Deputy. This prompted the Deputy to use deadly force. The suspect was transported to the Unity Health Medical Center in Searcy. 

Special Agents with the Arkansas State Police responded to investigate the shooting incident. 

There is no further information at this time.
