Update: Foul play suspected in Jefferson Co. deaths

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) – The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) is currently investigating possible double murder.

According to Major Lafayette Woods, Jr., deputies discovered the bodies of Anthony Branch, 62, and Deborah Moncrief, 58, at a home on the 6300 block of Cowboy Drive in Pine Bluff just after 6:30 a.m. Friday.

Neighbor James Smith tells THV 11, "Well I've lived here about eight months. It's kind of quiet. It shocked me to hear about this."

The investigation is still in its preliminary stages, and little information is available at the moment. Woods did, however, tell THV11 News that foul play is definitely suspected, but this case is in no way believed to be connected to escaped convicted murderer Timothy Buffington.

(More information on Buffington's case can be found here: http://on.kthv.com/1qBhxxp)

Woods tells THV 11 that they are currently searching for a person of interest, but no other information has been provided.

If you have any information on the deaths of Branch and Moncrief, please contact JCSO as soon as possible at (870) 541-5351.
