Firefighters save deer fawns from Goodwin Fire

Video from the U.S. Forest Service show Flagstaff Hotshots carrying two deer fawns away from the flames of the Goodwin Fire

PRESCOTT NATIONAL FOREST - While battling the Goodwin Fire Friday evening, Flagstaff Hotshots found two deer fawn surrounded by flames. 

The firefighters carried the fawns out of harm's way and took them to a nearby habitat unaffected by the fire to be reunited with their mother, according to the U.S. Forest Service. 

The Goodwin Fire started June 24 and has burned more than 27,000 acres. It is 53 percent contained as of Saturday afternoon.
