LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Senate has voted to create a task force that will study replacing a state veterans home that closed last year.

The Senate unanimously approved legislation Tuesday to create a 22-member Arkansas Veterans Home Task Force.

The proposal by Republican Sen. Jane English of North Little Rock calls for the group to look at the cost, funding sources and possible location for a veterans home in Little Rock to replace one that closed last year. The group would begin meeting in May and is required to issue its recommendations by Oct. 31.

The bill now heads to the House for a vote.
