NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A North Little Rock family is asking for help tracking down their missing 16-week-old puppy, who they say was stolen during a home burglary last week. It's any pet owner's nightmare to come home to an empty crate.
The puppy was stolen Oct. 5. Amber Shehadeh got home from work to find more than just her dog gone, but the entire house turned upside down.
“Everything bad that had happened in my life, it all came back,” Shehadeh said..
It’s an invasion of privacy no one can prepare for.
"I thought the stuff they took was weird,” her daughter, Sabrina Main said.
"My TV was not there, I went through the house and went to my bedroom," Shehadeh said. My window was wide open so apparently that's where somebody came in.”
She also found her kitchen cabinets and back door wide open.
"I know it sounds crazy, but the first thing I thought was that my daughter took the TV somewhere," Shehadeh said. "But then as I went through the house, it just clicked.”
Then Shedadeh noticed her 16-week-old puppy, Ferocious, was missing.
“The crate was thrown in the back yard,” she said.
But that's not all. Her laptop, hair straightener and a basket of clothes were gone too.
‘Everything is replaceable, but not him,” Shehadeh said.
Main came home to find her purses and shoes were stolen. The family has taken to social media to ask for help.
"I posted a picture of our dog and then my friend did, she got like 300 shares,” Main said.
Shehadeh hasn't slept in her home since last week. She said when police arrived, they got fingerprints and even car tracks.
“They said there's a couple that has broken into about three or four different homes in Levy," Shehadeh said. "And it could possibly be them because they've got fingerprints and know who they are. But they don't have anyone in custody."
The family is thankful for all the support they've received.
"It's great because I don't even know these people and they're so apologetic, they just care,” she said.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the family or the police.
