17-year-old killed in Hot Springs pedestrian accident

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) – A Hot Springs teen is dead after being hit by a car early Monday morning.

Around 12:15 a.m., Hot Springs police responded to the Martin Luther King Expressway in reference to an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

A woman was heading westbound in the outer lane of the MLK Expressway between McLeod and Airport Roads when she struck 17-year-old Lashwyne Nellum III.

Nellum, who was standing in the outside westbound lane was wearing a black shirt and black pants when he was struck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case is still under investigation, but no arrests are expected.
