CONWAY, Ark. (June 26, 2017) -- The Conway Police Department along with an Alcoholic Beverage Control Board agent conducted alcohol compliance checks at 25 businesses across Conway on Thursday. The officers went out in two groups using a 19-year-old informant and two 18-year-old informants.
When the informants ordered alcohol at 21 Conway businesses, they were asked for identification and seeing they were underage they were refused service. The businesses that passed compliance checks include: Las Palmas, Logan’s Roadhouse, Playa Azul, Buffalo Wild Wings, TGI Fridays, Chilis, Conway Family Bowl, TC’s Midtown Grill, The Dive, El Alcapulco, Cilantros, Los Tres Portrillos, Casa Catrina, Outback Steakhouse, Hilton Garden Grille & Bar, Cactus Jacks, Mosaique, Naru, Patron Mexican Grill, Serrano’s Mexican Grill and Tio’s Mexican Grill.
Four businesses failed compliance checks. When underage informants visited Brick Oven
Old Chicago, Fuji, and Shucked Surf & Turf and ordered alcohol, servers asked for identification. Once the informant presented unaltered identification, the servers served them anyway.
The servers at all of these businesses were issued citations for failure to comply. Fines range from $200.00 to $500.00.
The Conway Police Department offers classes to businesses that wish to provide additional training for their employees regarding alcohol compliance. For more information contact Investigator T. Kennedy at 501-328- 1244.
