STUTTGART, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Arkansas Department of Health is looking into a possible outbreak of Salmonella poisoning in Stuttgart.
So far, they have confirmed one case and two probable cases, but they have received 30 reports of people becoming ill.
At this point, it is not known where the source of the outbreak is, but officials say they don't believe there is any ongoing threat to people living in Stuttgart.
The department says they are inspecting places where sick people have eaten since Friday and given employees at those restaurants extra food safety training. They also ask that anyone with symptoms should contact them and their physician.
ADH encourages everyone to practice good hygiene by washing hands thoroughly and regularly to prevent the spread of infectious disease. You should also wash all fruits and vegetables before eating them.
