Ark. dog stays with mate after she is hit by car

JONESBORO, Ark. (KTHV) – On January 5, the Jonesboro Animal Control rescued a dog that stayed by his mate’s side after she was run over.  The female dog died, but animal control was able to rescue the male, a shepherd collie mix.

The dog was so attached to the female that animal control had to carry him away from her.

Jonesboro Animal Control updated their Facebook page to say that while he is doing ok, he is not eating much.  The dog is believed to be old.

His owner has not claimed him, so he will be up for adoption January 13.
