Ark. law enforcement searching for escaped inmate, stolen truck

DERMOTT, Ark. (KTHV) – According to the Arkansas Department of Correction, an inmate from the Delta Regional Unit escaped on Tuesday morning.

Around 8 a.m., 46-year-old Robert Woodward of Hot Springs escaped while working on a field utility squad in a cornfield near the Delta Regional Unit in Dermott.

An active search is underway to recapture Woodward by the ADC staff and local law enforcement.

Woodward is serving an eight year sentence out of Pulaski County for fleeing and was taken into custody on April 6. He is believed to have stolen a white 2013 Ford F-250 truck hauling a green John Deere lawn tractor from an area gas station with license plate number 764UZM.  

He is 6’1” and 226 pounds. He has a flag tattoo on his upper left arm.
