Ark. man arrested for father's murder

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – According to police, a Little Rock man was arrested on Thursday for fatally shooting his father last November.

On November 14, Little Rock police responded to a home on the 7000 block of Vega Drive after a witness stated that they observed 53-year-old James Danthon Sparkman of Sweet Home dead at the residence.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that 23-year-old James Daniel Sparkman had shot his father during a disturbance.

James Daniel Sparkman was initially released from custody without charges after evidence from the scene and witness statements were reviewed. Additional evidence later led to a warrant being issued and served on James Daniel Sparkman for first degree murder.

He responded to the 12th Street station where the warrant was served. He was transported to the Pulaski County jail without incident where he is being held without bond.
