NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- A local towing company is helping out with the flooding in Houston in a unique way by delivering water pipes.
J Hook Towing and Recovery left for Houston Wednesday to deliver the pipes so the city can begin the process of draining the water.
"There's a lot of negative things that's going on up there," General Manager Tim Moody said.
Moody said the company delivered about 30,000 pounds of pipe and got the call about the job around 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
"They asked me to expedite this to Houston as fast as I can get there," he said.
Moody had the truck stocked and ready to go by 5 p.m. After the crew is done working in Houston, they will also make their way to Corpus Christi to help out too. Not only is the crew delivering water pipes, they are also delivering clean water.
"After finding out what they're selling water for in Houston, we went to Sam's and bought a hundred cases of water. I heard it was going for about 24 bucks a case, there," Moody said.
While there is still a lot of work to do in Texas, people like Tim will continue to volunteer their time.
"If there's a need, we're going to respond," Moody said.
Moody said the driver will be there for about three or four days to move heavy equipment wherever needed.
