Arkansas Strong - How to Help

Following the deadly and devastating tornado that ripped through central Arkansas Sunday night, the following churches/businesses are accepting donations and recruiting volunteers to help victims:

Akel's Carpet One in Little Rock, Sherwood, and Maumelle:

  • Collecting monetary donations at all locations.

Apostolic Church in North Little Rock:

  • Accepting donations through Friday.
  • Donations of tarps, flashlights, batteries, hand sanitizer, non-perishable food items, gloves, toiletries, chainsaws, blankets, bottled water, etc.
  • Great need for socks and underwear for men, women and children. Also chainsaw oil and small propane tanks.

  • Arkansas Baptist State Convention is working with American Red Cross to provide disaster relief

City of Beebe:

  • Beebe City Hall official drop-off sites for tornado relief Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Items collected will be non-perishables, 18 gallon tubs, bug spray, sunscreen, laundry detergent, toiletries, etc.

Better Business Bureau in Little Rock:

  • Accepting donations of non-perishable foods, water, tooth brushes, toothpaste, toilet paper, diapers, baby wipes, deodorant, etc.

  • Celebration Baptist Church is collecting supplies for tornado victims and workers.
  • Flashlights, batteries, gloves, non-perishable foods, baby items, paper goods, and water.

New Life Church in Conway:

  • Asking people to meet at 8 a.m. Monday to help with tornado relief
  • They ask people to bring chainsaws and gloves
  • Location: Church is located at corner of Dave Ward Dr. and Country Club Rd. in Conway

Newport Junior High School:

  • Accepting donations of canned goods, non-perishable food items, and bottled water for the victims in Mayflower and Vilonia.
  • Weekly trips will be delivered to areas in need. Donations will be accepted at the junior high office during schools hours, 7:45-3:30.

North Point Ford-Lincoln in North Little Rock:

  • Donations of any sort will be greatly appreciated until Saturday. Please bring all donations such as toiletries, bathing products, clothing, water, non-perishable food items, power tools and anything that would be helpful to the main building on the North Point Ford campus.

Regions Bank Arkansas Disaster Relief fund accepting donations

Russell Cellular Verizon Wireless Retailer:

  • Accepting donations at all central Arkansas locations
  • 3 locations (Cabot, Heber Springs, Morrilton) giving out free car chargers to Vilonia and Mayflower residents (Must present ID)

Shepherd of the Peace Lutheran Church in Maumelle:

  • No clothes or bottled water. Looking for items to help workers such gloves, work boots, bandannas, sunscreen, etc.
  • Will not accept over the weekend due to an event, but will start accepting again starting 8 a.m. Monday.

Tripcony, May and Associates - Little Rock:

  • Collecting dog food, cat food, meat-flavored Gerber jars of baby food

Three collection centers are set up to accept supplies:

- Christ UMC in Cabot has been designated as a Faulkner County Staging and Distribution Center. They are ready to accept material donations. Location: 15361 Hwy. 5 in Cabot, next to the Greystone Sonic, 9 am – 6 pm.

- Grace Conway is open 11 am – 3 pm today; 9 am – 3 pm beginning tomorrow. Location: 1075 Hogan Lane, Conway.

- Maumelle UMC will be opening later

  • Donations can be mailed to Arkansas Conference, Attn: Disaster Response, P. O. Box 3611, Little Rock, AR 72203.

  • Drop gift by the Conference office, 800 Daisy Bates Drive, Little Rock, AR 72202 (on the Philander Smith College campus) between the hours of 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday.

University of the Ozarks in Clarksville:

  • Collecting toiletries and other every day hygiene items. Please leave in the original packaging.

  • Drop off at the student center outside the cafeteria or the rotunda of the administration building

  • Set up in the Clear Channel Metroplex at 10800 Colonel Glenn Road
  • Collecting items, especially bottled water.
  • Also drop off cash or check by any Centennial Bank branch. There is an account set up for those in Mayflower/Vilonia.
