Arkansas's tax-free holiday happening first weekend of August

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Parents (and non-parents) get ready because Arkansas's annual tax-free holiday weekend is about a week away!

Many people use this weekend to purchase items for their kids as they prepare for the journey back to school. But other items like clothing and office supplies are up for grabs as well!

The holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, August 5 and lasts until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 6. Neither state nor local sales tax will be collected during that 48-hour period on various items.

Qualifying items include clothing and footwear if the sales price is under $100, clothing accessories and equipment if the price in less than $50, school supplies, school art supplies, and school instructional materials.
