Arrest made in Booneville hit and run case

BOONEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State Police say they've made an arrest in a hit-and-run case at Booneville.

Fifty-year-old Joy Duvall was struck and killed Tuesday night while walking along Arkansas 23. State police said Friday they arrested 36-year-old Jason Rhodes of Booneville for negligent homicide and failing to stop after an accident that included an injury or death.

Late Wednesday, state police located a 2009 GMC Acadia that was believed to have been involved in the accident. Troopers arrested Rhodes Friday morning. He was processed through the Logan County Jail and released pending a court appearance.

A phone number listed for Rhodes was disconnected.

Duvall was pronounced dead at the scene of Tuesday's accident. Police interviewed nearby residents and asked for help from anyone who may have seen a vehicle leaving the area.
