BREVARD CO., Fl. (KTHV) - Deputies with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office in Florida have confirmed that a Bella Vista woman was killed on Sunday in a triple murder-suicide.
According to CBS affiliate KFSM, 39-year-old Linda Woods was found in a home that deputies believe was intentionally set on fire in Malabar, Florida.
Officers responded to an emergency call at the residence of Tony and Chrissy Hughes. Once inside, police found what they believe are the remains of 9-year-old Sebastian Meachum, who was reported as missing on Sunday.
Two female bodies were also found inside the building. Authorities believe the two bodies to be Woods and Chrissy Hughes. Deputies said trauma to both of their bodies suggest they had been killed prior to the fire.
Tod Goodyear with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office said that Tony Hughes may have killed the three people before setting the home on fire and killing himself. According to witness statements, there might have been recent domestic issues between Tony and Chrissy Hughes.
Police found a truck and boat trailer, which was registered to the Hughes family, at a boat dock on Sunday afternoon. The boat was later found unoccupied, but deputies noted that there was blood found inside the boat.
Goodyear said Woods is a teacher at Rogers Heritage High School. Ashley Siwiec, communication director for the Rogers Public Schools, confirmed they do have a teacher by the name of Linda Woods, but would not provide any more information.
