2 people killed when shooters invade social gathering

ALEXANDER, Ark. (KTHV) - A Little Rock man and Alexander woman were killed Friday night when two people entered an Alexander home and began shooting.

According to the Arkansas State Police, Joe Thomas Dickinson, 40, and Patricia Tucker, 54, died when two men entered their home on Vine Street and began shooting around 11:45 p.m.

Witnesses have said that two men ordered everyone to lie down and began firing at some who tried to get away. They also told THV11 News that more than 20 people were inside the home when the shooting began,

Officers could not say if Dickinson and Tuckers were specifically targeted.

State Police have not released any details on the shooters. No other people have been reported injured.

"It's always been relatively quiet. A little small town. Pretty much everybody knows everybody out here," explained Isita Ledbetter, a neighbor. "Like I said, I was born and raised here, so nothing to this degree."

A vigil was held near the home Saturday night as family and friends tried to figure out the motive behind the shooting. Family and friends were too overcome to speak on camera.

The State police are took the lead on the investigation at the request of the Alexander Police Department.
