BRYANT, Ark. (KTHV) - The superintendent for the Bryant School District has been placed on administrative leave.
BSD communication director Devin Sherrill said in a press release Tuesday that Randy Rutherford will be on paid leave for at least the next 30 days, but did not say why. -- The superintendent for the Bryant School District has been placed on administrative leave.
Sherrill went on to say in the release, "The Bryant Board of Education is actively developing a plan to ensure interim leadership at the superintendent level. The Board has the utmost confidence in the ability of the current administration to handle any questions or decisions that may arise until an interim leader is designated."
Rhonda Sanders, School Board President, said, "As with all personnel matters, further information is confidential.
Rutherford was recently named Man of the Year by the Bryant Chamber of Commerce, according to the Bryant Schools website. Posted a month ago, the site states, "The Bryant Chamber of Commerce has selected Randy Rutherford as Man of Year for his many contributions toward making Bryant one of best places to live and work in the state. As the leader of a district known for its quality education, Mr. Rutherford believes that a strong public school makes a strong community."
