Chis Olsen on creating Autumn aromas with natural ingredients

Create Autumn aromas with natural ingredients

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The scent of Fall is in the air!  Well maybe not quite yet.  Summer is really holding on isn't it?  So, let's put the 'smell of Fall' in the air ourselves in anticipation of when it finally does get here.  Using natural ingredients, we can create a relaxing Autumn Aroma to waft throughout our homes.  And then the next day (and here's the best part!), we can make a completely new fragrance.  Let's get started!

Choose one of the following methods that works best for you:

*Pot on a stove top

*Small crockpot

*Fondue pot

*Cup warmer

*Simmering pot

*Coffee maker (with automatic turn off feature)

Pick one or more ingredients from the following list or come up with some ideas of your own:

Apples, Oranges.....

Allspice, cinnamon, cloves, pumpkin pie spice, anise.....

Vanilla, mint, almond extract......

Pine, Ceder leaves......

Rosemary, sage, lavender, thyme.....

Apple Cider

Fragrant tea

Whatever else you have on hand or that you can think of!

Put water in your pot, then add your choice of ingredients and simmer for a while.  Reheat as needed for more fragrance.  Don't forget to add water as needed, as a fire may start if the pot runs dry.
