Community Connections offers fall programs for children with special needs

CONWAY, Ark. (Aug. 24, 2016) – Community Connections will kick off its fall extracurricular programs next month for children with special needs and their families.

The activities, which are free of charge, will include theatre, basketball, art, cheerleading, flag football, golf, martial arts and music. Families will also have the opportunity to participate in an educational / support workshop in Conway and programs by the Autism Resource Center of Arkansas.

“We can hardly wait to start our fall programs and meet the kids and families,” said Courtney Leach, executive director of Community Connections. “This is a great opportunity for kids to have fun while building self-esteem, physical activity and teamwork skills.”

Since Community Connections launched its extracurricular activities in Conway in 2005, the non-profit has rapidly expanded. Today, it serves over 12 counties through ten different programs in Little Rock, Conway and Russellville. Last year alone, more than 500 children participated in Community Connections’ programs.
