Conway police arrest man in apartment shooting, found with 3 pounds of pot

CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) -- Conway police believe the shooting at Centennial Valley Apartments Wednesday evening was the result of a failed drug deal.

Around 4:30 p.m., Conway PD got a call about two exchanging gun fire in the complex on Hogan Street.  When officers got to the scene, witnesses told them one man was seen leaving the area on foot and another had been shot.  Police later learned the shooting victim had been taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.

Officers searching the area learned from witnesses that they saw a man throw a duffle bag into a dumpster near a house as he ran by.

Officers found the duffle bag and discovered just over three pounds of marijuana and a gun.  Later police found and arrested the suspect, 21-year-old Marlon Bolden, a few blocks from the scene on John Bryant Street.

He is in custody facing charges in connection with this incident.  The individual who was shot is in the hospital being treated for his injuries.  This case is still under investigation.
